About the event
Seed Library Volunteer Days will be a time to share and show various seed harvesting, cleaning, preparing, and packaging techniques, while also helping keep the Community Seed Library stocked. We will go over a variety of techniques, include dry sifting, wet sifting, winnowing, fermenting, temperature gradients, and more. You can even bring whole cut plants with seeds still on, and we will go over proper techniques for that specific plant and help prepare the seeds. We have multiple sets of seed sifting trays, winnowing bowls, and everything needed. Depending on grant fund availability, we will hopefully have extra materials to give to volunteers that want to clean and save their own seeds at home.
